Welcome to the Bull Bash!
On behalf of Dean and Melodee Carstens, Sara and myself, we cordially invite you to be with us on February 28th. We humbly consider it a privilege that you will take the time to attend and evaluate this sale offering.

Dean contacted me this fall to visit about the possibilities in combining our bull sales. Reducing his cow herd has consequently left Dean with fewer bulls to efficiently hold his own sale. After visiting about our goals and objectives in the seed stock business, it became apparent that our philosophies were very similar: people first… bulls second.

A friend of mine who knows Dean and Melodee said, “They are great people with character and integrity! Second to none!” (I hope the Carstens’ don’t ask him about me.)

After “kickin’” through Dean’s bulls, I was very excited how well they phenotypically matched the bulls of Pinehurst. Dean and I have different stories, walked different paths, but are similar in our focus and vision: STOUT, PRODUCTIVE ANGUS BULLS!

Old friends or new, we look forward to seeing you because the greatest reward of all is the relationships and friendships that we have established.

Sincerely,
Carl Tessmer

That Life-Long Road We’re Traveling
There are countless decisions that we make daily. Many of these seem so trivial while others are so vital. We are fearful in making significant decisions knowing of the life changing consequences on that Road of Life. As I am now in my fifties, I look back and already see a long traveled road behind me. Oh how my decisions have altered this rocky path. I have straddled many pot holes. Oh, I suppose I have helped a few: changing a tire or giving a lift. But what I really see as I look back are the people God has put on this road who have helped me so much more than I have helped others. However, I will never forget that “fiery crash” over the cliff where no one could help me. As I cried out to God to save me, he sent His Son via Calvary to eternally rescue me! There will be challenges on the road ahead, but one thing I know for sure: God has promised I will never experience another “fiery crash” ever again. Around one of these curves ahead, God assured me that sooner or later I will see the most beautiful cattle grazing pastures too perfect for words. And just maybe…He will allow me to be one of His assistant herdsmen! Will you be there to help?

Sincerely,
Carl Tessmer

John 3:16
I sincerely thank my family, friends, and neighbors for their perpetual help
and support, not only for this sale, but on the Road of Life.
  Dear Friends:
We are especially pleased to be a part of the Bull Bash of Madison County for 2009. As Carl has said, we have similar breeding philosophies and goals. That coupled with the fact that we have been selling at the same auction and only about ten days apart made sense to combine forces. We intend this to be an annual event that stresses quality. This will benefit you, the customer.

We have down-sized our cowherd, because my joints are revolting. As the old saying goes, “If I knew I would feel this bad, I wouldn’t have played so hard.”
(I probably would have anyway.) This is an excellent set of bulls. I know they are  the best that I have raised. Our bulls are being cared for here at home this year and Carl’s are at his farm.

I hope you can join us February 28. If not, at least come view the bulls before the sale. We thank you for your past interest and hope to be your seed stock supplier in the future.

Sincerely,
Dean Carstens

We hope to see you there early! While you’re kickin’ through the bulls, we’ll have hot coffee and fresh doughnuts and muffins.
